Grayshott Village
The year started with a memorable Grayshott march to save the Royal Surrey County Hospital - so far successful. Having already won Hampshire village of the year twice it fell to BIG to ask us to "Love Your Village" for the third time and ask Is Grayshott the Best Village in Hampshire? of course it is as Grayshott Wins "Best Village" Award for the Third Time and to prove it Grayshott Collects Award for Best Village in East Hampshire Jim's at Your Convenience as our MP Opens New Toilet Block and Police Office in Grayshott and Grayshott Loos Go for Gold So Grayshott cleans up again in 2007 and there is also a Clean Up for Grayshott's Memorial

Grayshott Children
Grayshott Primary School pupils compose their own opera after securing a National Lottery grant, Wins Artsmark Award from the Arts Council and Village Square Design Competition. The Sun Shines on Little Sunflowers 40th Anniversary Celebrations as in 2007 they were Celebrating 40 years of Preschool Education in Grayshott. PK Pre-School children show off a Nice piece of Handy-work!. Grayshott Youth Club Relaunched to provide a range of interesting activities for young people from Grayshott from school years 8 & 9 (ages 12-14 approx) Friday 11th January from 6.30 - 8.00pm

Village Hall
Another busy year for the village hall - and a big thank you to the caretakers Jo & John Edser and management committee for maintaining our number 1 community facility. In 2007 Grayshott Village Hall bids farewell to long-standing Chairman as David Barrett retired after 15 years at the helm.

You'll never walk alone when The Grayshott Stagers present 'Carousel' the head-spinning Rodgers and Hammerstein's ever-popular 1945 musical. Their next major production is Noel Coward's "Cowardy Custard"

PIG had another busy year organising firstly the village panto "Trouble in Pantoland" - rehearsals for the next one "Jack & The Beanstalk" are already underway - then the annual summer Jamboree sets Grayshott on Fire to coincide with the Fire Service centenary and just for good measure the ever popular Pyrotechnics in Grayshott

St Luke's Church
St Luke's Church family celebrate in style at an unusual Parish supper and the "Holy Dusters!" It's the 'grime-stoppers' get into a good summer clean. Liberator comes to Grayshott bringing a touch of theatre to St Luke's which makes a wonderful venue for the autumn concert as BBC Young Musician strikes a moving chord in Grayshott

Robins delay production at Grayshott Pottery but not the award for the most pro-active business in the community gaining Awards for all in Grayshott! "We're on our way to Wembley" with The Ultimate Pottery for the Ultimate Stadium to Liphook Grayshott Pottery Winners Plates for Liphook in Bloom and Cityscape Winner of Grayshott Pottery Prize at Bohunt, to Farnham Grayshott Pottery shows 'Art in Clay' at Farnham Maltings to Compton Grayshott Pottery to celebrate the Watts' legacy! and they did Grayshott Pottery Stands Out at Compton's Watts Gallery Back to Grayshott - It's all for charity folks with a Charity Shopping Evening at Grayshott Pottery for GUTS as the Grayshott's Late Night Shopping event heralded a success! finishing the year with Christmas Shopping Evening for the PTA at Grayshott Pottery

1st Grayshott Scouts
Another big birthday in 2007 as the 1st Grayshott Scouts Celebrate at Centenary Party on the school fields then Grayshott Scouts Join Worldwide Rededication. Villagers were invited to Join the Grayshott Boundary Walk and raise funds for your cause and local photographer Phil O'Connor captures some of the agony & ectasy for the grayshott gallery

The Fox & Pelican
2007 and a big Grayshott Welcome for Ben & Emma at The Fox & Pelican who immediately rang the changes for the better at Grayshott's favourite Pub. A refurb of the village bar made way for live music on Tuesday and Sunday nights and there were new bespoke Grayshott Pottery plates for the diners as Businesses join forces to bring out the 'best of British!' One of the years highlights.. CHASE is BIG winner at Fox & Pelican Casino Night

Grayshott Square Group
The Grayshott Village Square Group was formed to consider some Grand Designs for Grayshott Village Square with Grayshott Primary School taking part in the Village Square Design Competition combining with some ideas from Kingston Uni Architectural students producing a shop front display as First Design Ideas for Grayshott Square Community Project Unveiled. The fundraising commenced with the Party in the Piazza fundraising success and a collection at the Carols as the Christmas Tree Lights up Grayshott

Movies in Grayshott
Movies in Grayshott premiered in 2007 with the latest bond movie "Casino Royale" followed by a visit from "The Queen" then Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code". Pottermania cast its spell as Grayshott Books was Calling all Harry Potter Fans for A Magical Night to Remember at the next film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to coincide with the publication of the last in the series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows The years programme closed with "Mrs Henderson Presents" and the disturbingly familiar "Hot Fuzz"

Arthritis Care Grayshott
Grayshott celebrates 60 years of Arthritis Care at a special party to celebrate 60 years of Arthritis Care Grayshott with members and friends and some speciial guests. The branch in Grayshott meets in the Village Hall at 2pm on the first Tuesday of every month and is mainly a social gathering with entertainment from guest speakers covering a wide range of interesting topics before tea.

The Grayshott Society
In 2007 The Grayshott Society took its first steps to protect and enhance village life Among several projects was the installation of a Blue plaque to celebrate Flora Thompson made by Grayshott Pottery and the commissioning of new Grayshott Village Signs designed by Visual Assets. In March the society assisted as Residents campaign against proposed overdevelopment in Grayshott and in November Grayshott Society Celebrated its 1st Birthday

Grayshott Concerts
Grayshott tuned up for its most spectacular musical event ever as Grayshott got the go-ahead for its first ever open air Opera to be held in the grounds of Grayshott Primary School. The June performance of Barber of Seville organised by Grayshott Concerts was a sellout success as bookings Exceeded All Expectations The autumn concert with "The Armed Man" was sensational as the BBC Young Musician strikes a moving chord in Grayshott

Grayshott Fire & Rescue
Grayshott Fire & Rescue held their Centenary Celebrations in 2007 culminating in a successful Open Day to coincide with the Village Jamboree In April they also paid an educational visit to Grayshott Primary School whose pupils took part in open day poster competition The year ended with a fire service ball at Old Thorns which helped Grayshott Fire Station to raise an amazing £17,000 for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund in 2007 achieving another Grayshott 1st in Hampshire The last hundred years has been commemorated with the publication of a History of Grayshott Fire Station

Grayshott Gardeners
Grayshott Gardeners have had yet another busy year with regular club nights and workshops complemented by visits to several stunning gardens. They held a BIG Plant sale and Spring Bulb Bonanza in the Square and their Spring Show was a Huge Success Over 700 people turned out in the summer sun to visit the 25 Hidden Gardens of Grayshott in June raising £5000 for village amenities in the process. A wonderful display of flowers and garden produce adorned the Summer Show and another successful year was celebrated with a summer party at the pavilion as it struck Pimms O'Clock for the Grayshott Gardeners

Grayshott Cricket Club
The village cricket club introduces Cricket for Girls in Grayshott and the Grayshott Girls meet Shane Warne for some inspiration before the Shotts Ladies Make Cricket League Debut. In June Grayshott Cricket Club visit the Land of Nod then wakes up as MP Rt Hon James Arbuthnot visits Grayshott Cricket Club. The youth section thrives taking the Winners Trophy for Unbeaten Shotts Under Nines and later the Grayshott Lions Roar and become Under 9 Two Counties Youth League Champions - many achievements rewarded at the Grayshott Cricket Club Youth Presentation Evening in September. The adults fair well too as Grayshott Overcome Frensham to Win I'Anson Sixes and Shotts 3rd XI Crowned I'Anson Champions. Grayshott Veterans Knock Fox for Six in the inaugural Grayshott Cricket Club six a side competition with sides made from sponsors and supporters of the club.
