VILLAGE SQUARE UPDATE
The Square working party are moving forward with ideas over the refurbishment of The Village Square in Headley Road.
To date several ideas and design sketches have been received by the working party to study and comment on.
There are ongoing discussions with open space and landscape designers, architects, lighting experts and others. As well we are encouraging a younger input by getting Grayshott Primary School involved in the project. We are also approaching students of landscape architecture to see if any would like to submit ideas for the working party to consider.
Importantly because the Co-Op windows that front onto The Square dominates the look at the present time and we want the Co-Op to be an important stakeholder in the process, we are therefore in contact with them and are confident that they will Co-Operate over any refurbishment designs put forward that involves the Co-Op side of The Square.
There are many issues to work with and around when considering the refurbishment, such as any services underground, the impact on residents and businesses and importantly the needs of shoppers and the extent of village community usage throughout the year that will occur. We are as well looking at the cost of some materials that may be used. Other materials and labour costing cannot be done before we are at the stage of having detailed drawings to work to.
The date of our next Square working party meeting is on the 15th of February so please contact us prior to this date should you have ideas or comments for us to consider. Contact Colin Thompson on 01428 607309 or email colin@thompson-st-annes.co.uk
Our aim is to have a choice of designs for residents to view and consider at the Grayshott Parish Annual Assembly which is to be held in The Village Hall on Friday the 30th March at 7.30 pm
