Clive Slaughter, Phil Bates and Dick Smith were delighted to be invited to the Intech Science Centre near Winchester on Saturday 13th October to receive the plaque awarded to Grayshott for being judged the Best Village in East Hampshire 2007.
Steven Lugg, Director of the Hampshire Association of Parish and Town Councils, chaired the event with Ian Christie of Calor making the presentation on behalf of East Hants District Council, who sponsored the award.
Lead Judge, Jane Harrap, commented on the tremendously high enthusiasm of all entrants and how the competition was a perfect example of all that is good in the communities of Hampshire. Grayshott was seen as being among the most active and progressive communities in Hampshire.
Clive Slaughter, chairman of Grayshott Parish Council, added that he felt it yet another great achievement for the village and thanked the 'Buy in Grayshott' campaign for entering the village into the competition.
