Applegarth Farm announced this week that they will be sponsoring Grayshott Concerts next high profile event "The Armed Man" on Saturday 3rd November.
Managing Director, Will Benson said "We are very pleased to support the first of Grayshott Concerts 'Celebrity Artist' events. The quality of performance they are achieving in our village is quite exceptional and to be able to welcome to Grayshott Cello Soloist Guy Johnston, winner of 'BBC Young Musician of the Year', is a great privilege." |

Grayshott Concerts' Artistic Director, Vivien Harrison responded: "Applegarth have made a huge impact on Grayshott in recent months, especially with the opening of their popular Fine Food Cafe, so we are delighted that they have agreed to sponsor 'The Armed Man'."
The November Concert is remarkable in more ways than one. Guy Johnston will play both the popular "Benedictus" and will also perform Haydn's Cello Concerto No.2 in D. The concert will also see the world premiere of "Song of Wisdom", written for chamber choir and orchestra and conducted by local composer Nicholas O'Neill. The work is supported and funded by a grant from Hampshire County Council while East Hampshire District Council are supporting the event as a whole. "We are already planning several years ahead to secure more performances by world ranked artists including violinist Chloe Hanslip, clarinetist Emma Johnson, violinist Tasmin Little, pianist Howard Shelley and the London Mozart Players." said Mrs Harrison. "Our Grayshott audiences are very loyal and we shall do everything possible to bring the very best musicians to perform in the village." Meanwhile, tickets for 'The Armed Man' are selling rapidly and the organisers are predicting another sellout event. The Concert will open with Parry's Coronation Anthem "I was glad", sung by the Occam Singers and accompanied by the New London Sinfonia under conductor David Gibson. Composed by Karl Jenkins, the work has appeared in ClassicFm's Top Twenty 'Hall of Fame' every year since it's composition in 2000. Tickets at £15 are available from Grayshott Concerts by ringing 01428 606666. |
