The evening attracted around 150 visitors to Grayshott and in the process raised much needed funds for the Royal Surrey based charity to help pay for the screening of patients for bowel cancer.
Staff and organisers worked hard to ensure shoppers had an evening to remember and many visitors donned overalls to try their hand at pot throwing within the Pottery's extensive premises. Meanwhile, the pottery's Café Bistro staff keenly cooked up a huge selection of festive treats to keep shoppers refreshed whilst they shopped.
Professor Chris Marks, founder of the G.U.T.S charity, attended the evening and was delighted with the response from shoppers, he said 'It was a very successful and well attended Christmas Shopping evening - especially seeing the clay pottery being made and so many local people supporting G.U.T.S.'
'We had a great evening', explained Phil Bates, Chairman and Trustee of Grayshott Pottery,' Visitors braved the cold and wet November weather and travelled from as far as Manchester in one case, though more generally from villages around Guildford to the south of Petersfield! Many had never visited Grayshott before so this was particularly nice for us. I would like to thank the Pottery staff who worked so hard during the evening but also a special thanks to the G.U.T.S team and to the press for their help in getting the message out about the event and about the work of this wonderful charity does to save so many lives. We look forward to running many more events like this in the future'.
