Grayshott Welcome for Ben & Emma
at the Fox & Pelican

Grayshott extended a warm welcome to the new managers of The Fox & Pelican last week. Emma Bagguley was joined by her husband Ben at the popular Fullers pub just a few days before the Jamboree and in the nick of time to help Emma get things prepared for possibly their busiest time of the year.

The Party in Grayshott committee who organise the Jamboree were delighted to be offered a generous donation by Ben & Emma towards the Jamboree which went to sponsor the 'Batala Portsmouth' samba reggae band who stole the show as they led the 'Grayshott on Fire' carnival procession.

Thousands of villagers joined the Jamboree and the weather fortunately, in what has turned out to be the wettest June on record, remained kind with only a sprinkling of rain in the afternoon that failed to dampen their spirits.

The Fox & Pelican is also sponsoring and catering the forthcoming open air opera "Barber of Seville" to be performed in the grounds of Grayshott Primary School on 7th July

The Barber of Seville will be performed by 'Opera Box' in Grayshott on 7/7/7

Organiser Vivien Harrison who with husband Peter formed 'Grayshott Concerts' commented "All is now in hand for a splendid evening at the Opera. The long range forecast shows the weather changing for the better from 2nd July onwards, so we are still planning on a warm summer's evening.

There are still a few tickets available, so if you don't have yours as yet, now is the time to go to Grayshott Books (tel 01428 604798). We are using a discreet sound enhancement system, so even if your seats are towards the back, you will be able to both hear and see without difficulty.

A gourmet Al fresco Supper will be served by the Fox & Pelican under a marquee in the grounds of the School prior to the performance. Although tickets for this sold out some time ago, we now have just a few in hand, returned by sponsors who cannot use their full allocation.

This will be a wonderful relaxing way to start the evening. Tickets are £20 each and include a welcome drink and a two course buffet supper. Drinks from the bar will be served at your table - and you may also order your interval drinks to be ready at your table. No need to spend any time waiting at the bar."

If you would like supper tickets, or further information on the supper, please telephone Vivien Harrison on 01428 714119.
