EHDC Village Business Grant awarded to Grayshott

East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) has awarded a grant to the 'Buy in Grayshott Group' as part of EHDC's Village Business Grants scheme.

The Buy in Grayshott Group is running a project to promote Grayshott as a place to visit and shop as well as benefiting local businesses by helping to retain and generate jobs in the area.

The grant will help fund the production of a village map of Grayshott, which will be designed as a leaflet to generate interest in the attractions and shops. It will also help fund the development of the village website to make it easier for local businesses to use, and run customer care training for village businesses.

Buy in Grayshott is a successful local business network with a strong membership in the area. They have already raised half the funds for the project. The grant from EHDC is just over £4,000, and will allow the project to be fully delivered.

On hearing that they have been awarded the grant, Dick Smith of Buy in Grayshott said: "This is fantastic news and we are delighted that EHDC has awarded us the village business grant. It is a great help to our project and will put Grayshott well and truly on the map. I was very impressed with the help and assistance given by the Economic Development team at EHDC."
