![]() Police Community Support Officer Jim Leggat outside his new office This Friday 28th September is the official opening of the new Grayshott toilet block by MP James Arbuthnot. This new safer facilty also incorporates the new office for our Police Community Support Officer Jim Leggat. Jim will be holding his first open surgery the preceding Thursday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm and he has this message for us all... "Hi, For those of you that don`t know me, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST 2 ½ Yrs!!!!!!. Seriously though, my name is Jim Leggat and I am the Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for the Headley and Grayshott Parishes. I joined Hampshire Constabulary in March 2005 as one of the original intake of 26 employed by the county and we pioneered the development of the role which has now grown to over 330 officers, county wide. The primary role of PCSOs is to combat low level crime and anti-social behaviour by means of high visibility patrols and to gather information to assist our police officer colleagues. Through the hard work of the parish and district councils, Grayshott has a smart new toilet block in the Headley Road car park, attached to which is an office which has generously been given over to police use. I plan to hold drop-in surgeries on a monthly basis when members of the community can come along and discuss whatever it is that you are concerned about from a policing perspective in a private and confidential setting. (I might even have the kettle on). I cannot always promise to have the answers but if not I can direct concerns to the most appropriate person who can help. I propose to be open for business on the following THURSDAYS between 2pm and 5pm and we will see how it goes. 27th September
