Grayshott Cricket Club's 2007 Youth Presentation Evening was the "icing on the cake" following a very successful season for the Club's youth section. The Village Hall was full again as the Club had on display an array of trophies won this season.

It was the first opportunity for club to display the Alan Staves Cup won by the Club's U9 Lions team who became 2007 League champions, the first time in twelve years since the club has won a league trophy at youth level. Either side of winning this trophy the U9 squad won both the Haslemere and Frensham six a side competitions, a considerable achievement bearing in mind it is just the 3rd season of Under 9 cricket at Grayshott

Also on display was the Norman Disney Trophy won by the 3rd XI this season to win Division 5 of the I'Anson Cup Competitions, the team comprising of a healthy mixture of Under 15 players throughout the season who all contributed to the team's success

The club's junior membership continued to grow and despite a pretty awful summer weather wise, the club fulfilled 56 youth fixtures, an increase over 2006.

This year the audience were treated to an amusing video clip produced by coach Jim Haywood, that had everyone laughing

Youth Manager Graham Sampson introduced the eleven children who had been selected to play for the South East Hants Development Squad who were given a warm round of applause for their achievements.

The Youth team sponsors were on hand to present over 30 individual awards. Peter Clapham presented the Club awards as follows;

Bowling: Matt Jackson
Batting: George Bowerman
Most Improved Player: Alex Meears
Fielding Award : Joseph Stafrace
Wicketkeeping Award : Josh Mcivor
Under 9 Player of the Year: Richard Smart

The winner of the Peter Clapham Young Player of the Year trophy was Under 11 player Sebastian Brixton who is pictured above with his trophy with Peter Clapham and Chairman Paul Roberts in the background.
