Clive Foskett, chief executive of Grayshott based Signature Publishing, is a finalist in the Institute of Directors South East Director of the Year Awards 2007. The Grayshott entrepreneur set up his company two years ago and has ambitions to be one of the UK's top magazine publishers.
The Institute of Directors' awards are sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers and are the first to be organised for South East business leaders. They are designed to highlight and applaud directors with outstanding business acumen, leadership skills and social responsibility. |

IoD Regional Director, Rodger Broad, explains: "Directors come to us from all over the world for help and advice on their professional development. The judges, all highly successful business people themselves, thought he was exceptional because of his already proven success and his commitment to being involved with raising standards within the publishing industry." Mr Foskett is one of three directors in the category for businesses with up to £4.99m turnover. His company has already won national publishing awards. With 27 employees, it specialises in monthly magazines, annuals, websites, online retailing and outside events. It is the UK's No 1 monthly publisher of specialist equestrian magazines. His vision is to develop the business to be in the top 25 of the UK's magazine publishers. There are some 500 consumer magazine publishers in the UK and currently Signature is rated 65th. Five Directors of the Year, from an area stretching from Banbury to Dover, will be chosen at a sell-out gala dinner at the imposing IoD headquarters in Pall Mall on November 8th.
