When Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Bob Geldof and Queen's Brian May need the "World's Best Party Band", who do they call? The World Famous Red Sox, of course! Following their gig at Grayshott last year they are making a return this time to Churt Village Hall
You've only got to check out The Red Sox website to see the calibre of the guys who make up this talented four-piece band . . .
There's guitarist Jamie Moses and keyboards player Spike Edney, both members of Queen; bass guitarist Steve Stroud, a regular member of Cliff Richard's band; and Johnny Marter, one-time drummer with Marillion. And collectively, the boys have played with some of the greatest names in the music business - Gary Barlow, Madeline Bell, Beyonce, Jack Bruce, Eric Burdon, The Corrs, The Eurythmics, Bob Geldof, Graham Gouldman (10cc), Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Justin Hayward, The Hollies, Chaka Khan, Freddie Mercury, Mike & The Mechanics, The Pretenders, Lionel Ritchie, Tom Robinson, Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company), Pete Townshend, Judy Tzuke, U2, Suzanne Vega and Paul Young, to name but a few!
In the past, the band has been booked by Paul & Linda McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Brian May, Tina Turner and now Jane Gazzard - for the second time during the last 12 months, so they must be good! Add to all of these credentials a repertoire of over 300 songs covering four decades - plus a great sense of fun and humour - then you'll see why you'd be mad to miss their return gig at Churt Village Hall on Saturday 8th September.
Doors open at 8pm and there'll be a licensed bar. Tickets are available from Grayshott Books, Jane on 01428 606268 or mob 07933 794014 and Sarah on 07732 011176. And for more info on the band, visit their website at www.worldfamousredsox.com or www.jamiemoses.com
