Grayshott CE Primary School pupils were delighted to have the opportunity to play an important part in the Parish Council's consultation process for a new Grayshott Village Square Design.
Colin Thompson of Grayshott Parish Council invited the pupils to come up with a creative design for how they would like the village square to incorporate their needs. Over 80 Grayshott School pupils took part and all their designs were exhibited at the Parish Assembly to help stimulate discussion: from chocolate fountains to climbing walls!
The winning pupil designs were presented Grayshott Pottery vouchers by Colin Thompson and Phil Bates as part of a School Achievement Assembly on Friday 4 May.
Holly Maynard (Year 5) created the winning design with Sophie Rawlston (Year 6) as a close runner-up.
Jon Hills, headteacher said: "We are always keen to be actively involved in Grayshott village projects and have really appreciated the opportunity for the ideas of our pupils to be considered within this consultation process. We appreciate that some of our 'out of the box' thinking may not come to fruition but we are excited to see just how many of our pupil's ideas are included in the final design".
