Newly appointed Fox and Pelican managers, Emma and Ben Bagguley, celebrated the launch of their brand new British based menu this week. To mark the occasion the couple plan to serve the food on locally designed, hand crafted pottery created by Grayshott Pottery.

'We are passionate about creating the right product for our pub', explained Emma Bagguley, who has managed Fuller's pubs for the last seven years. 'We believe that a lovely fresh British menu served on a hand crafted plate is what our customers want, and this all fits in nicely with the village ethos. When we looked at the possibilities of working in Grayshott and taking over the running of the Fox and Pelican, we could see immediately that the village has a terrific and active community base with its strong 'buy local' idea (BIG). We felt that we should support this too whenever possible, so when we were designing the new menu it felt right to update all our plates and dishes too and source them from Grayshott Pottery who have a great design team. We've already had lots of really positive comments about our new British menu and about our new contemporary tableware!'

Chris Greenaway, Sales Director for Grayshott Pottery was delighted that Emma and Ben chose the Pottery to complete their vision and said, 'This has been an enjoyable project for the whole team. Although we create lots of pottery for our local residents and visitors we also design catering stoneware and pottery for companies all over the UK including some very famous names. So it is a real pleasure to do both in this case, and design and produce a modern brand for a local business just around the corner!'

Chef James Stephenson has worked hard with the new husband and wife team and the British menu at the Fox and Pelican will consist of meals such as game pie with mash and seasonal vegetables, alongside old pudding favourites such as apple crumbles and treacle sponge. 'Small portions' of these family favourites are available for children too.
