Grayshott is a safe and peaceful village and, with a population of around 2,500 and a thriving commercial centre, it has a great sense of community, and so is the perfect place to both live and work. It is also well positioned for commuters being within easy reach of the south coast, M25 and London and having good rail links from neighbouring Haslemere & Liphook
Grayshott has recently been awarded Best Village for Business in the Community 2008. Grayshott was previously awarded the title of "Best Village in East Hampshire" in 2007 and has also been awarded the title of "Best Village in Hampshire" in 2002 and also in 2005 when Grayshott was also chosen to host the award ceremony Following the Hampshire awards Grayshott was entered into the national village awards and additionally presented with the prestigious award for "Best Village for Business in the Community in England & Wales" by HRH Princess Anne at a London ceremony in 2002 and then in 2005 for "Best Village for Business in the Community in South England" by no lesser celebrity than Alan Titmarsh.
Grayshott is also famous for its Potteries and Spa and having been the home of Sir Robert Hunter who founded the National Trust is fortunate to still be surrounded by beautiful unpoilt countryside with beauty spots Waggoners Wells, Ludshott Common and the Devil's Punchbowl all within easy walking distance
There is a lively social scene in Grayshott with the Fox & Pelican pub at the centre and the Social Club and Royal British Legion all offering a place to relax and enjoy a drink with friends and family. A good choice of excellent restaurants offers chinese, indian, nepalese and turkish cuisine and there is an excellent family menu at the Fox & Pelican which has a large beer garden with a childrens play area.
Also in the village centre are the square which is soon to be refurbished under the care of the Grayshott Square Group, two village greens, a sportsground and two allotments under the care of Grayshott Parish Council. Lyndon Green with childrens playground, and the larger Village Green, bearing the millennium sculpture, both play host to the fabulous annual "Village Funday" organised by the Party in Grayshott (PIG) team. The sportsground with pavilion known locally as "The Rec" is home to the Grayshott Cricket and Football clubs, a second childrens playground, skatepark and is the exciting scene of the annual fireworks night also organised by PIG known as the Pyrotechnics in Grayshott.
More first rate sporting facilities are to be found at the nearby Herons and Edge leisure centres, with the successful Haslemere rugby and hockey clubs and at Grayshott Spa. There are numerous golf courses in the area and a golf driving range and two golf societies GGS and GOGGS in the village itself.

29th feb - Affordable housing boost for Grayshott - East Hampshire District Council is delighted that a small-scale development of affordable housing is to be provided in the village of Grayshott to address the housing needs of some local people. This year will see the completion of two houses and two bungalows in the village. Following development funding of £196,000 from the Housing Corporation, Drum Housing Association started on site in January at Beech Hanger End. 4th feb - 2007 Best Dressed Shop in Grayshott Awards Dinner Last night (Sunday 3rd February) saw the exciting finale of the awards for the best dressed shop in Grayshott 2007. Judging is done twice a year, in spring and autumn, with marks awarded for cleanliness, shop display and general shop appearance.
