The event called: 'Martin plays Mendelssohn' stars our local hero, Martin Smith, |
| who grew up in Headley and performed Bruch's Violin Concerto in Grayshott a |
| couple of years ago to great public acclaim. |
| This time, he will perform the 'other' most popular Violin Concerto, in E minor by |
| Mendelssohn. Martin is much sought after to be 'Leader' of some of the world's |
| But he's never had the chance to be soloist in the Mendelssohn masterpiece - |
| until now. His 'Bruch' performance was much admired by the ever-enthusiastic |
| Grayshott audience, so you can expect the Mendelssohn to be fabulous too. |
| The concert opens with Wagner's Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin and concudes |
| with Brahms' Symphony No.1 in C minor, in the second half |
| David Gibson conducts the popular New London Sinfonia. |
