Grayshott Gardeners will welcome a very special lecturer on Wednesday 13th |
| February 2008 in the Village Hall at 7.30pm for 8.00pm start. |
| He is Mr Christopher Bailes who is currently the Curator of the RHS Garden |
| Rosemoor in Devon. Christopher’s illustrated talk is entitled “The World of Orchids” |
| on which he is more than qualified to speak. |
| Christopher Bailes trained at Kew Gardens and later became responsible for the |
| orchids at Kew. He was then appointed to the Eric Young Orchid Foundation in |
| Jersey for four years which holds one of the finest collections of orchids in the |
| Since 1988 Christopher has been the Curator at the RHS Garden at Rosemoor, |
| Devon, where he has overseen the development and planting of that garden since it |
| He is responsible for the outstanding collections and associations of plants seen |
| Christopher is a lecturer, writer of books and articles, a photographer, but above all |
| an outstanding and knowledgeable |
| plantsman who has appeared regularly on local and national TV and Radio. He has |
| travelled widely in Africa, Nepal and Borneo in his study of orchids. |
| This lecture promises to be a highlight of Grayshott Gardeners’ year |
| and we would like to share it with you all. There will be a small admission charge of |
| £2.00 per person for visitors which is payable on the door. Please come you will |
