| Description |
The Grayshott Decorative and Fine Arts Society (GDFAS) is a member society of the National |
| Decorative and Fine Arts Society (NADFA-S). The Objects of GDFAS, which celebrated its first 20 |
| years in October 2006, are the promotion and advancement |
| of the aesthetic education of the Society Members through the cultivation, appreciation and study |
| of the decorative and fine arts and giving aid to the conservation of the national artistic heritage. |
| The Society, which has some 220 members, aims to achieve these objects through a programme |
| of lectures, visits and study days on topics such as painting and sculptur, architecture and |
| gardens, music, china, and jewellery. |
| The Society also provides Heritage Volunteers to support local museums and properties, and |
| provides team members of Church Recorder groups. |
| Under the Young Arts initiative, GDFAS provides artists in residence for local schools' arts weeks. |
| There are ten lectures per year on the afternoon of the first Thursday of each month (excluding July |
| and August) in Grayshott Village Hall. |
