Description The Grayshott Decorative and Fine Arts Society (GDFAS) is a member society of the National

Decorative and Fine Arts Society (NADFA-S). The Objects of GDFAS, which celebrated its first 20

years in October 2006, are the promotion and advancement

of the aesthetic education of the Society Members through the cultivation, appreciation and study

of the decorative and fine arts and giving aid to the conservation of the national artistic heritage.

The Society, which has some 220 members, aims to achieve these objects through a programme

of lectures, visits and study days on topics such as painting and sculptur, architecture and

gardens, music, china, and jewellery.

The Society also provides Heritage Volunteers to support local museums and properties, and

provides team members of Church Recorder groups.

Under the Young Arts initiative, GDFAS provides artists in residence for local schools' arts weeks.

There are ten lectures per year on the afternoon of the first Thursday of each month (excluding July

and August) in Grayshott Village Hall.
