Dear Grayshott residents,
Here is my newsletter for week commencing 11th. July, just a little later than planned The next newsletter is scheduled for week beginning Monday, 29th. August.
High Hedges
This is beginning to generate quite a bit of work. Please try to resolve matters with your neighbours first. Whatever the outcome, it won't be cheap. The cost of tree surgery often runs into hundreds of pounds and the fee to request EHDC enforcement is also hundreds of pounds.
The Fox and Pelican
The licensees have requested an extension to their licence so that they can serve alcohol and play amplified music later than previously. The application is quite involved but the headline change is for Friday to Sunday evenings in which an extension from midnight to 1.00 am is being requested.
I will have a significant say in whether or not this is granted, (although not the final say - that falls to EHDC's Licensing Committee).
I have already asked that this application is considered by the committee as I know this change is likely to have a mix of reactions. Please email me with your opinions
Finally.......
It's the silly season. News is in short supply. I've been on holiday quite a bit which explains the brevity of this newsletter.
As usual, if you have comments, agree or disagree with me, please contact me on 01428-609858 or on Fcowper@aol.com
Best wishes,
Cllr. Ferris Cowper
EHDC Councillor for the ward of Grayshott
and Cabinet member for Finance
