Martin plays Mendelssohn - Saturday 15th May 2010 St Luke's Church at 7.30 pm
Following his triumph with "Bruch's Violin Concerto", Martin Smith returns to play Mendelssohn with the New London Sinfonia, directed by David Gibson.
news - 21st may 2010 - Second Success for Soloist in Grayshott - Organisers of Grayshott's 'Martin Plays Mendelssohn' heaved a huge sigh of relief on Saturday night, 15th May, when their largest-ever orchestral event went without a hitch and to resounding applause from the 300-strong audience at St Luke's Church. The orchestra of 44 musicians forming the New London Sinfonia under conductor David Gibson was the largest ever to be assembled in Grayshott specially to perform the majestic Brahms Symphony No.1. But the star attraction for many concert-goers was the ever-popular Mendelssohn Violin Concerto performed by local hero Martin Smith. wed 25th nov 2009 - "A Christmas Carol" Drama based on the novel by Charles Dickens @ St Luke's Church
This will be our first ever venture into drama and, we believe, a great start to the Christmas Festivities, and will coincide with the annual 'switch on' of the Grayshott Christmas Lights.
news - 18th nov 2009 - Scrooge is a 'Dickens' of an attraction in Grayshott - When community classical music promoters 'Grayshott Concerts' decided to stage Charles Dickens', "A Christmas Carol" at St Luke's Church at 7.00pm on Wednesday 25th November, little did they know how popular it would prove. Tickets for Britain's best known ghost story, featuring Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, have been eagerly snapped up for weeks and now only a few remain. "We're really glad we took a gamble on this amazing production," said organiser, Peter Harrison. "It's a heady mix of eccentric masks, wild puppets and an atmospheric set - with live music and songs making this fabulous story a great start to the Christmas festivities." more...

Making a welcome return to Grayshott Concerts is the popular "New London Sinfonia" with Conductor David Gibson and leader of the orchestra - Martin Smith. Using our new staging to full capacity, we are now able to bring Ludwig van Beethoven to Grayshott, with a performance of his 3rd Symphony "Eroica" Also included in the programme is Mozart's "Flute and Harp Concerto" with up-and-coming soloists: Harpist, Sally Pryce and Flautist, Adam Walker.
news - Dream Comes True in Grayshott - After years of planning, a dream came true for a Grayshott woman when Beethoven's Symphony No.3 (Eroica) was performed in St Luke's Church last Saturday. The occasion was Grayshott Concerts "Eroica" event, in association with Buy In Grayshott (BIG), performed by the New London Sinfonia under conductor David Gibson for an audience of over 300. Concerts' artistic director, Vivien Harrison, was overjoyed. "Ever since our first concert in 2004, I've dreamed of putting on a Beethoven symphony, but there simply hasn't been enough room for the almost forty musicians needed. And now at last we've done it!
