CHLOE COMES TO GRAYSHOTT Saturday 1st November at 7.30 pm - St Luke's Church Our eagerly anticipated performance featuring Chloe Hanslip with the London Mozart Players is the next concert in the series. Chloe is a young virtuoso violinist, considered by many to be one of the most talented of her generation on the international concert platform today. She is a previous winner of the Young Classical Brits Award, and is not only delightful to hear, but stunning to see in action as well. Chloe will both play and conduct Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". Anyone who has heard this delightful work only on a telephone ring tone or hold system, is in for a lovely surprise. The programme also includes Tchaikovsky's "Serenade for Strings" and Mozart's "Divertimento No K136", under the direction of Leader of the Orchestra David Juritz. As this will be such a visual experience, seating will be arranged to allow everyone a good view of the soloist, although this will inevitably reduce the number of seats available. And all within walking distance or very short car journey for the majority of our patrons. Chloe has also agreed to meet concert goers directly after the performance and to sign copies of her recordings which will be on sale. Credit and debit cards can be taken in payment for these. It would not be possible to stage a concert of this calibre, at modest ticket prices, without generous business and local authority sponsorship. Our sincere thanks go to our main sponsors Applegarth Farm, Deli and Restaurant, and to Huntington House Nursing Home. Substantial grants have also been awarded by Hampshire County Council, to be used specifically for this concert, including an award from Councillor Sam James' Councillor's fund. General booking opens on 1st September although reservations may be made in advance. Reservations from Friends of Grayshott Concerts will take priority until 1st September. Tickets reserved in advance will be available for collection from Blaze House Art between 1st and 8th September. For the first time, pre-concert suppers will be hosted by Wings Woods Chinese Restaurant, and numbers are limited to 60 due to the size of the restaurant. This is a delightful way to start the evening, with a leisurely supper at 5.30, followed by a short stroll to St Luke's Church for the concert. We look forward to adding this excellent restaurant to our supper venues. Reservations may now be made as follows: Through our website: www.grayshottconcerts.co.uk By telephone: 01428 606666 In person from the Box Office, at: Blaze House Art, Crossways Road, Grayshott. Concert Ticket Prices: ------------------ * ------------------ MORE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY Saturday 14th March 2009 "Stabat Mater" Karl Jenkins' new choral work, premiered at Liverpool Cathedral in March this year. Featuring Grayshott's own choir "Excelsis", and ethnic vocalist Belinda Sykes, who performed both at the premiere and on the CD recording. We can promise you a spectacular performance. If you loved "The Armed Man" - you're sure to love "Stabat Mater" too. And the special surprise, leaked in our last newsletter, is firming up - to be revealed later . . . Friday 8th May 2009 Pianist Howard Shelley, with the London Mozart Players, will both conduct and play an evening of Mozart. We have it on excellent authority that Howard is one of the best exponents in the art of conducting from the piano, and is a delight to watch. This is Grayshott Concerts first programme featuring the piano, and hence the date is switched to a Friday, to allow for removal of the instrument on Saturday in time for Sunday Services. Yours sincerely
