CONCERT IN GRAYSHOTT

A major new event to be held on 16th October 2004 at St Luke's

A "classical" Celebration of Baroque Music including:

Two resounding Coronation Anthems by Henry Purcell (who was Organist at Westminster Abbey) and who established himself as one of the foremost English composers of all time

Handel's enchanting Organ Concerto, "The Cuckoo and the Nightingale"

The delightful Symphony No.2 by William Boyce, a contemporary of Haydn

Highlights from Handel's best known work, "Messiah", (which he composed in less than three weeks!) including the famous "Hallelujah" Chorus.

The choral works will be performed by the OCCAM SINGERS, known for their work in raising money for local causes, accompanied by the NEW LONDON SINFONIA ORCHESTRA conducted by their Director of Music, David Gibson.

The main sponsor of "Concert in Grayshott" is Grayshott Pottery.

The Fox & Pelican will be serving a pre-bookable two-course pre-concert supper from 5.30pm at £12.50, tickets available from 1 May 2004.

Profits from the concert and supper will go to the upkeep of St Luke's Parish Church.

To be held on Saturday 16 October 2004 starting at 7:30 PM at St Luke's.
